Our Values

1

CHRIST-CENTERED

Christ-centered – the systematic search of truth leads to the conclusion that Jesus Christ is truth. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’ John 14:6. This worldview places Jesus first and foremost in every application of life, above a set of doctrines, or a mechanical checklist of beliefs. Paul described this value passionately in 1 Corinthians 2:2, “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”

2

Covenant Relationship

God unites Himself with humanity through covenants. The Greek term for covenant means, “a binding together.” A Biblical covenant is a relationship bound together by mutual commitments. Christianity is exemplified through covenant relationships. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another,” John 13:35. The eternal value of covenant relationships is reflected in our first priority, our vertical relationship with Jesus Christ and in our second priority, our horizontal relationship with one another.

3

Integrity

The word “integrity” comes from the Latin word, “interger,” which means, “whole or complete.” The Bible teaches that wholeness or completeness cannot be achieved without a relationship (Genesis 2:18). Philippians 1:27 – 28 describes three ways the value of integrity is exhibited relationally: (a) Standing together, (b) Working together, and (c) Succeeding together. “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel, without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God.”

4

generosity

Giving is a demarcation of every Christ-follower. God is gracious to us with fresh mercy each morning, and we know that every good gift is from above. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows,” James 1:17. The generous person finds multiple ways to bless others beyond but including financial means. The enduring value of generosity expands our capacity to receive and steward God’s eternal riches.

5

unity

The Holy Spirit alone can produce unity. Carnal efforts to create unity recreate additional carnal devices and ultimately cause disorder and confusion. The continuum of being filled with the Spirit, walking in the Truth, sacrificing our personal desires, and being obedient to the Lordship of Jesus, produces spiritual harmony. Paul stressed this value in his appeal, “Brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought,” 1 Corinthians 1:10.

Lifeway's poll revealed the top 17 needs of Pastor in the U.S.

"God is a God of Generational Connection"

What Pastors really need....

The most significant need in this recent poll was not even listed as an option. That need is a RELATIONSHIP. More than 30 years serving Pastors has taught me that Relationships are a Pastor's greatest need by far. Everything else needed flows relationally through a biblical community. That is what Legacy Ministry Network is all about.
